4. Function description of each device of water bottling machine
①Multi-media filter
The removal of suspended and colloidal particles by media filtration is based on their deposition on the surface of filter grains, while the water flows through a bed of these grains (filter media). The filter media in water treatment are sands, magnetite and hard coal.
During operation, influent water to be filtered enters at the top of the filter, percolates through the filter bed, and is drawn off through the collector system at the bottom.
②Active-carbon filter
The active carbon has a large surface area that it reach 1000 m2 per gram. So it has a huge adsorption capacity. When the influent water flow through the active carbon bed, the free residual chlorine, taste, color, odor are adsorbed on the surface of the grains.
③Ultra-filtration device
Ultra-filtration provides macro-molecular separation for particles in the 20 to 1,000 Angstrom range (up to 0.1 micron). All dissolved salts and smaller molecules pass through the membrane. Items rejected by the membrane include colloids, proteins, microbiological contaminants, and large organic molecules.
A cartridge filter with a pore size of less than 5 μm is the minimum pretreatment required for every UF device. It is a safety device to protect the membranes from suspended particles. So a set of cartridge filter which includes six PP filter elements is fixed before the ultra-filtration elements.
After a long time running of ultra-filtration membranes, the scaling layer develops. A cleaning-in-place (CIP) system facilitates the cleaning of the membranes. Cleaning-in-place is carried out with cleaning chemicals.
④Ozone generator
The ozone is one of the most powerful oxidizer known. It can kill all kinds of the bacteria in the water immediately. Ozone must be generated on site because Ozone is unstable and can't be bottled and shipped. So an O3 generator must be fixed in the water purifying works.
5. Brief Running Control Description
①The system is designed to be controlled in an automatic mode (by SIEMENS PLC) where a signal from the external permeate storage tank (final tank) level switch or feed tank level switch causes the system to start and stop. If the system is in the AUTO mode, the system will start and stop based on external level control. If the system is in the HAND mode, it will continue to operate regardless of the external level control signal. To manually stop the system, move the H-O-A switch to the OFF position.
②The multi-media filter and the active carbon filter are equipped with the 2850 series filter control valve (FLECK, made in U.S.A). The two filters can automatically execute the operation program and the regeneration program under the controller.

The water purifying system includes the pretreatment section, the ultra-filtration (UF) section and the ozone sterilization section. The system is designed to produce up to 6.0m3/h of product bottled mineral water.
